Job Description :
We are seeking someone Data Modeler to work with our InfoSphere Suite of
products in Data Architecture and Information Analyzer as we build a health
management solution. In this role you will be responsible for designing and
maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models. You must
understand information requirements and translate them into relational data
models that allow for easy data mining and optimum reuse of data. You will
model enterprise data and data relationships ensuring the enterprise data
warehouse, data marts and analytic data applications are a trusted source
of business truth and support optimal data mining.
Daily Activities
Designs and applies changes to logical and physical data models in
collaboration with Business Analysts to satisfy the reporting and advanced
analytic needs of the business, optimized for reuse of data and
interoperability of BI solutions.
Documents and maintains documentation of application data relationships and
BI data models.
Load the data dictionary and business glossary with agreed upon terms,
metadata, definitions, descriptions, and related values.
Provides technical support assisting the Business Analyst in resolving end
user issues.
Contributes to Data Governance standards and conventions.
Participates in evaluations of enterprise metadata tools addressing
requirements pertaining to data at rest, data movement and associated
lineage within the confines of the BI environment.
Key Skills:
Requirements
Minimum: 8 years of experience as a Data Modeler
Minimum: -5 years working with enterprise data sources and BI tools.
Minimum: 3-5 years of experience with data profiling and data quality
analysis.
Must have - Experience using CASE tools such as ERwin to design and
maintain data models (logical/physical) and metadata
Highly preferred - Direct experience with IBM InfoSphere and IBM data
models a plus
Preferred: Financial and healthcare knowledge.
Experience with Business Objects, Oracle or Cognos tools a plus.
