*Position : UNIX Engineer* *Location –** SFO, CA* *Duration:** 6+ months* *Rate:- Market* The *Consultant UNIX Engineer* helps establish a common design, engineering, and build capability for client in order to improve organizational processes and/or work flows. Develops and establishes enterprise-wide technical, designs, and engineering capabilities, including process, function, and delivery. *Knowledge and Skills Required:* · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science · 10+ years of experience with enterprise level server design and support for any UNIX/Linux platforms, or equivalent combination of education and experience · 6+ years of experience as a technical SME and/or senior engineer specifically for IBM Power systems and the AIX operating system · AIX expert level of experience to include familiarity with: HMC, PowerVM (VIO Server, NPIV, SEA), NIM, Power Hardware, LVM knowledge with SAN storage and familiarity with Hitachi, Violin, and EMC storage · Extensive experience with infrastructure and server theories, principles and concepts; application infrastructure and standards; networking fundamentals; UNIX/Linux; SAN storage systems; clustering (e.g. VCS, ZFS, LVM); physical server architecture; Virtualization Technologies (e.g. LPARs, Solaris Zones, VMware) and LAN/WAN/Firewall/VPN network technologies · Familiarity with DR and high-availability architectures · Strong experience in the design of enterprise, high-volume, secure systems and data center strategies · Excellent interpersonal, verbal, organization, and planning skills · Positive attitude and ability to work through obstacles and roadblocks · Must be able to navigate through ambiguities and be flexible to multi-task changing priorities · Strong detail orientation, follow-through capabilities and escalation of key issues; superior analytical and problem solving skills · Strong ability to build partnerships and influence others that are not in the direct sphere of control, with the ability to earn the respect of technical personnel across application and infrastructure teams *Education Requirement:* *The following are all highly desirable:* · IBM AIX 7+ System Administrator certification · Familiarity with: IBM HACMP clustering software and Veritas clustering · Experience with ITIL or other best practice methodology · 3+ years of experience as a technical SME and/or senior engineer specifically for Oracle Solaris · 3+ years of experience as a technical SME and/or senior engineer specifically for Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 5+ · Advanced knowledge in building Linux servers in a virtual VMware ESX environment Thanks & Regards AHMED *Exatech, Inc.* 7588 Central Parke Blvd, Suite 307, Mason, OH 45040 *Phone:* (513) 433-5603 *Email:* yahe...@exatechinc.com <recruite...@exatechinc.com> *Web:* www.exatechinc.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Hot List" group.
