It was brought to my attention from somebody on the mjpeg-tools list that DirectFB refers to fields as even and odd rather than top and bottom or upper and lower. It was suggested that DirectFB should change those references to top and bottom as it's more clear what a top and bottom field is vs. an what even or odd field is.
I suppose simply not knowing if scanlines are numbered starting at 0 or 1 could be a cause of that confusion. b. -- Brian J. Murrell
