Indeed.  Something like bttv.o does currently.  Maybe I will take a
look at Gerd's Makefile and see how he does it.

Right.  But what I want to avoid is having to build a whole kernel
(only got an Athlon 800 here) just to get the module.  I don't know of
any way given a kernel tree, to easily build a single arbitrary
module.

So given that, it would be nice to be able to build the fusion module
right in my CVS sandbox, given (say) a "Makefile.standalone".  The
standalone Makefile would of course need to be pointed to the kernel
source tree for the target kernel.

Once I figure out how Gerd did his bttv.o Makefile, perhaps I will
take a whack at this.
