How is the display server going?

It's going mighty fine, DirectFB is a joy to work with.

I do find it odd that mouse events are only sent for one axis, but I can get around that.

I'm extremely impressed with directFB and I think running a GNUstep distro on it would be fantastic.

However, GNUstep has some pretty high demands for graphics, so I was actually thinking of doing the actual drawing using cairo or libart into memory, then blitting that to the screen. This means that a lot of directFB's functionality (like font rendering and such) would not get used.

If DirectFB had better graphics, like maybe grafting Cairo into it, that would be awesome. I do understand that this is probably outside the goals of DirectFB, which is fine too.

Thanks!

Chad
