:-) Could you send the "added to stock qt" portion to me. or hell, if you can tarball the whole tree, i'd be glad to go pick it up somewheres. > videoout_directfb files are included in sources. The mythtv sources? I have seen those. The problem is getting the UI on DirectFB framebuffer. > Well with a G400 you could use matroxset to redirect CRTC1 to the TV > encoder or use CRTC2 via /dev/fb1 Which I am doing and then running an 800x600 (for lack of better modeline timings for ntsc) but the results are visually horrible. Nowhere near as nice as mplayer -vo dfbmga for example. That is the kind of quality I am looking for. I was hoping to get that from myth's video player and use whatever I can for the OSD (x11 on framebuffer if i had to, or qt on framebuffer, etc.) > but both options would make using > DirectFB's CRTC2 support impossible because matroxfb_maven would block > access to the i2c bus :( Right. > What yo could od is redirect CRTC1 like above and > use the BES to display the video. But I'm still suffering from the 800x600 frame buffer no? Even if I could get "proper" NTSC timings for the framebuffer I would be further ahead but I have searched for years to find any. It seems that everybody is happy with video quality at 800x600. I think most people don't know what they are missing in fact. b.
