Hi all,
just a quick rundown of what's up with the Debian graphical installer.
The Beta 3 release of the installer is finally about to be released and for
the first time it officially includes the graphical version which is
based on directfb-0.9.24 and gtk+-directfb 2.0.9.

As you can read in [1] svn is already open again for commits and we're working
on switching to the much newer libs (already included in the debian archives),
namely directfb-0.9.25 and gtk+-directfb 2.8.18.

Running some tests with the new libs we've noticed some regressions:

- there are some problems with the directfb backend (see [2] and the bugreport
[3])
- default fontsize is much bigger than it was with the old libs (using the
  same config files)
- touchpad did not behave too well, but after all these updates we'll have to
check if
anything has changed on this regard

Besides this, we'd like to have a console available inside the installer:
Denis, is there any chance you can help us to include dfbterm inside the
installer?

regards,
Davide
