Hi,
I must have done something stupid because trying to load a videoprovider
(well I just tried flash and avifile, so maybe the others are working
...) in the CVS DirectFB version always cause it to die with a
segmentation fault.

I tried this by compiling the DirectFB and DirectFB-examples modules (I
checked them out Friday). I first installed them on the same computer
where 0.9.8 worked correctly, but launching df_window with an avi file
or swf file caused the segm. fault. The same program worked correctly
without a video provider as did other examples where video providers
where not needed (df_dok for instance).

I even tried to compile the CVS version on a clean RedHat 7.2
installation (even the first installation is on a RH7.2, but with a
2.4.17 kernel I recompiled) , but the results where the same.

Another problem I encountered with the CVS version (it's not that
important to me, but might point you to an existing problem) is that I
cannot start X (XF86Free 4.1.0 included in RH7.2) after a successfull
run of any of the CVS examples: X starts but is unusable because (I
think) it keeps receiving spurious events ... menus keep appearing and I
can't control the pointer ... so I have to kill X and forget about using
it unless I reboot the machine.
This does not happen with 0.9.8.

If you're interested in additional information to sort out this, just
ask. I'll reproduce the problems and send you the logs or messages you need.

Thank you
Ottone Maurizio Grasso
