  vga=794

You don't need this file with vesafb.
Only the current mode can be used.

You got 1024x768.

This is impossible as DirectFB can't even switch the mode with vesafb.

This is strange, because you already use ypan.
But maybe the mode you specified after "vesa:" confused vesafb.
