Only mapped windows are actually existent as DirectFB windows. The number
of desktops doesn't influence the amount of memory needed. If you actually
have a 32MB card you could try the 32mb patch. Using "dfbdump" you can get
a list of allocated windows and surfaces to check the video memory usage.
