Hi Thomas,

I've had good experiences with a Savage IX/MV chipset.
Not sure if it's available in newer laptops, this one is a Gateway Solo
5300 - 550MHz w/128MB RAM.
The Savage framebuffer patch that comes with DirectFB is functional but
still needs some work. I found the standard VesaFB to be better,
particularly when used in XDirectFB.

Savage is supported under XFree, so it does XVideo fine.
No 3D hardware acceleration as of yet, but a DRI driver is being worked
on.
I've yet to try utah-glx's driver.

Regards,
Rick
