Sure, but does /usr/include/linux point to the kernel headers from this kernel? Usually it contains the kernel headers used to compile libc, not the headers of the kernel you are running.

You're right, that was the problem.
I put the actual sisfb.h from my running kernel into the include dir and directfb compiled immediately.
Nice work, SiS seems to work good, I wonder why it still says it's only 20% complete ;-)
