Hello all,

I'm encountering the following error when running mplayer against my
g400 and DirectFB from CVS:

       ---------------------- DirectFB v0.9.21 ---------------------
             (c) 2000-2002 convergence integrated media GmbH
             (c) 2002-2003 convergence GmbH
        -----------------------------------------------------------

(*) Single Application Core. (with MMX support) (2004-01-25 08:34)
(*) DirectFB/misc/memcpy: using MMXEXT optimized memcpy()
(*) DirectFB/InputDevice: Keyboard 0.9 (convergence integrated media GmbH)
(*) MMX detected and enabled
(*) DirectFB/GraphicsDevice: Matrox G400/G450/G550 0.6 (convergence integrated media
GmbH)
Can't get CRTC2 layer - Not supported!
Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device.

This is with a stock kernel 2.4.24. /proc/bus/i2c looks like this:
i2c-0 i2c DDC:fb0 #0 on i2c-matroxfb Bit-shift algorithm
i2c-1 i2c DDC:fb0 #1 on i2c-matroxfb Bit-shift algorithm
i2c-2 i2c MAVEN:fb0 on i2c-matroxfb Bit-shift algorithm

Any ideas? I am using CVS because I was unable to get 0.9.20 to compile, either
with kernel headers from Debian's linux-kernel-headers package or by linking
/usr/include/linux and /usr/include/asm directly to the 2.4.24 headers.

(Incidentally, matroxset also refuses to compile with newer kernel headers; I
had to use the 2.4.24 ones.)

(Incidentally, mplayer doesn't seem to work on 2.6 systems as it expects a
/proc/bus/i2c, which has been moved to sysfs.)

I'm pretty stuck at this point, so thanks in advance for any help!
