Hi, I too have been experimenting with VDR and an EPIA-M motherboard.
I am planning to integrate some CLE266 mpeg code written by Andreas Robinson into the 'softdevice' plugin for VDR. At the moment, softdevice works with DirectFB and the CLE266 although I had to make a couple of patches the other evening in order to get it to work. At the moment: - The OSD works, and is alpha blended with the video picture. At the moment the complete screen is alpha blended - the chip is apparently capable of doing per pixel alpha blending, but I don't think this is quite working in DirectFB yet. - Softdevice plays back video with accelerated scaling, but no hardware decoding. Playback is a bit erratic and jerky - hopefully the hardware decoding will fix this. I had a problem with 'clicks' on the audio in softdevice, but softdevice is still under development.
