Is this by any chance a Sanyo PLV Z2? Try setting the projector to accept PC HDCP instead of PC Digital (then reboot the pc). In this mode it advertises 1280x720 to the PC instead of 1024x768. The drawback is that it then expects color values in the range of 16-235 (video range) instead of 0-255. -- -Tor
