Hi, I'm new to directfb, I have it running on two boxes, a P2 400 with an ATI 3D Rage Pro (seen as Mach64 by directfb), and a P4 1.8GHz with an ATI Rage 128 (can't recall what directfb sees it as, its not booted to linux currently).
When I run dfbterm on the Rage Pro machine, I get terminal translucence when the cursors moved off, but on the Rage 128 machine, the terminal remains solid when the cursors moved off. Both machines run slackware 10.2, all have dfb 0.9.24, and dfbterm/lite cvs from 11.05.05. On both dfb configs, I use the same "root window" image, to test the translucence. I start dfbterm with dfbterm --fontsize=22. Both machines are using 2.4.31 kernels with framebuffers specific to the vidcards in use, both framebuffers running at 1280x1024-24 Can anybody shed any thoughts on why dfbterm behaviour differs between the two machines? Are they card driver specific to dfb? Framebuffer driver specific in the kernel? An "R" in the month?
