Running Xorg on DirectFB works fine for everyone I think ;) I have also a G550 and ran into this problem long time ago when I switched to Ubuntu. It seems the problem is only related to G550 and gnome-session (KDE is running :-/ ). The xsession error is as follows: [..] The program 'gnome-session' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadImplementation (server does not implement operation)'.
