DO just emerge, dev-libs/DirectFB-0.9.{22,24,25.1} are in official tree.
Why did you make mess your package system by strayed manually build?
Well, if you need more current DirectFB stuffs,
It can be available snapshot ebuild as well.

It's unofficial one, and it needs to edit snapshot date, though.

I guess DirectFB stuffs which you installed manually into /usr/local/SOMEDIRs.
Maybe, some options are required when Xine-lib's configure scripts and
make process runnig.
If you really want to install some DirectFB libs/apps manually install,
you cann't do with one-tracked mind like you did.
FYI, some ebuild are described raw configure/make process tricks,
these could help your manulally installing way, though.
