I'm trying out the i830 driver with an intel MB with gma900 gfx hardware. This MB allocated 8mb shared memory to the onboard graphics. I have been unable to allocate any more memory.

When I try to playback video, eg with VDR's softdevice, I get an out of memory exception;

Restarting VDR and DVB by error level 1 at Fri Jun 22 23:35:29 BST 2007

I've configured directfb with

fbdev=/dev/fb2
mode=720x576
depth=16
dma
no-debug

Is there any hope of using this chipset to output video at all?
