Strange!
./configure --prefix=/usr/local && make && make install should install
all the needed libraries and modules.

Strange too!
I have a couple of questions:
1) Do you have the Multi Application Core enabled in directfb?
2) Does it still hang if you disable audio output in fusionsound (echo
driver=none >> ~/.fusionsoundrc)?

If both the answers are YES, then it could be a bug in the ffmpeg video
provider. Actually the provider suffers width badly encoded videos, so
you could try to re-encode it using ffmpeg (unless it was already
generated by ffmpeg).
