Alas, you can try to enable the debug tracing of DirectFB if it's
possible - add  line "debug" into the .directfbrc file (or set that as
a program argument)

To create the input events buffer :

IDirectFBEventBuffer *events  = NULL;
dfb->CreateInputEventBuffer(dfb, DICAPS_ALL, DFB_TRUE, &events);

To get the input events :

DFBInputEvent last_event;
events->GetEvent( events, DFB_EVENT(&last_event) );
if ( last_event.type == DIET_BUTTONPRESS ) {
 // do something on mouse button event
}
