First if you apply the changes I sent you your colors will be correct for 24 
bit RGB when using fbdev. 

Second, I would love to use the osd0 in 16 bit mode, but a silicon problem in 
the dm644x does not allow me
to have a resolution of 1280x720 without video jitter or tearing on the osd.  
Since I am bound to vid0 I would need the devmem to work for vid0.
