so that's good that you have /etc/fb.modes.
Now DirectFB tries then to read this file. It looks like the syntax is
ok, so that probably will work.
The possibility then is that something goes wrong while testing the modes.
The easiest way is to build directfb with --enable-debug and to run with
--dfb:debug (or put debug in directfbrc) and then look at the lines with
FBDev/Mode in them for strange things or errors.
