Is it supposed to work with framebuffer?
I am using Gtk 2.16 and DirectFB-1.2.0 and SetVideoMode doesn't seem to pick
up the change in screen resolution.
On looking further in to it, I realized that the SetVideoMode just does a
primary window resize. Isn't it supposed to do ioctl to get
FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO? or is there any other way to reset VideoMode xres and yres?

You can use IDirectFBScreen::GetSize() to get the size of the
screen.
You can use IDirectFB::SetVideoMode to change the screen size, but
only if you are in exclusive cooperative level (that is if you are addressing
the primary surface). But of course you can switch between cooperative modes to
do this.

Or if my hardware performs auto rotation and if I do get that
notification, how do I tell Directfb to reset it to the new screen
orientation?
