yes it would be.
I guess the possibilities are:
-rewrite the omap driver to use the acceleration
-combine OpenGL with DirectFB, so you can mix the DirectFB and the OpenGL API at will. the latter has the added benefit of exporting all of OpenGL, and is partially in the making as well.
