Hello Robert,

That works!! :-) But now I have a new problem. My screen is 320x240
(but is designed as a sideways 240x320). So when I rotate the display
I end up with a stripe of unused space down the right side of the
screen, and then an unviewable area below the screen. I thought I
would just go in and change the mode line in the fb.modes file, but I
can't seem to get it right. Shouldn't I be setting the mode to
240x320? I keep ending up with a purplish colored window (rotated
correctly) but that only fills about 25 percent of the screen.

I am using the "mode generator" from here:
http://bisqwit.iki.fi/source/fbmodes.html?xres=320&yres=240&refr=80&xwid=60&ywid=80&xpro=1&ypro=1

Do you know what I might be doing wrong?
