I ment you could use libavcodec/libavformat to do this programmatically. Take a look at *Decoding Video Frames* on http://www.inb.uni-luebeck.de/~boehme/using_libavcodec.html. I would also recommend* Tutorial 02: Outputting to the Screen* on http://dranger.com/ffmpeg/tutorial02.html.
