Please consider the latest attachment. Running ConcurrentTest* with the
OffHeapLinkedMemoryBuffer does obviously show a bit more GC activity, but
nothing really significant.
But if you want to merge free pointers in an efficient way, you can't achieve
this using a single plain List.
