Hello

I'm moving my Dirvish backups from an old server (Debian Sarge, ext3) to
a new server (Debian Etch, xfs) and I have some interesting things
happening.

I start by copying a first bank to the new server. This bank is a backup
of a Debian Sarge server, system only /srv has a separate backup, around
800 MB for one backup and 130 backups :
        rsync -aH oldserver:/srv/dirvish/mybank /srv/dirvish/
No errors. Then I have a look at the sizes :
        du --max-depth=1 --block-size=1MiB /srv/dirvish/
that gives me a size of 5238 MB for mybank on the old server and 3169 MB
on the new server.
If I try a new rsync -aHv I receive the file list, no new files are
transfered, and I have no errors.

Has anyone experienced such a difference in disk usage when changing
file systems?
