Greetings,

I have been using dirvish for some time and, it has been working great.
Recently, some of my backups spontaneously stopped due to a drive
becoming unmounted. It occurred to me that it would be nice to have
some sort of notification about the outcome of the nightly backup jobs,
particularly if there is a problem.

Is anyone successfully using either version (shell or perl) of the
dirvish-status (or dstat) script from the wiki?

There seem to be a number of problems with the scripts, though. I was
able to correct some of the simple stuff - for instance, the perl script
tries to open /bank/vault/dirvish/.conf instead of
/bank/vault/dirvish/default.conf, leading to a crash. I also set a full
path for the check to find the last backup to make it not depend on the
directory in which you run the script.

The script also fails if you have multiple banks, which is where I gave up.

Is there a better solution for this?
