Check out http://wiki.dirvish.org/index.cgi?ForceExpire on the dirvish wiki. It can be used to wildcard-expire vaults. Actually it just sets the vaults TO EXPIRE. Verify and modify the script to meet your needs. The script should be well documented. Note: the script assumes an image format of YYYY-MM-DD (meaning it searches byte 9 and 10 in the date string) and is set to save any image made on the 1st day of the month -- which in the case of backups that run POST MIDNIGHT ...means the data in the vault is from the last day of the previous month.
