Rich,

If I remember right, you specified "client: [email protected]"
in your .../dirvish/default.conf file. If you're running dirvish
locally, i.e., on salmo, try changing that line to "client: salmo",
and see what happens. That's how I've got my laptop set up. I still
have to be root to run the program, so there's no security lost, so far
as I know. Of course, if you're running it across a network, then feel
free to ignore anything I say. :-)

Also, you might want to use the "--dry-run" option when trying things
out. Just in case things go all pear-shaped. :-) With that option,
dirvish will come back without doing anything nasty. Also, it doesn't
matter which directory you're in. You can run dirvish from anywhere.
