As shown, the syntax of the config file is wrong. 'client' and 'tree'
are both single-valued options as documented at
http://www.dirvish.org/dirvish.conf.5.html so their values must appear
on the same line as the key.
But that seems like a fairly obvious difference from other files that
you say work?
