We've added snippets from the Wikimedia sister projects into a sidebar display on the search results page

Very good. I think that's extremely important, because I see the cross-wiki search results as a way to surface content the user may be totally unaware of.

A rather useful example I encountered yesterday by chance:
<https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?search=dewey+classification>. The cross-wiki search results provide an authoritative text on the author (Wikisource), a textbook on the topic (Wikibooks), a derivative term (Wiktionary) and some quotations from the author (Wikiquote). The snippet help make sense of a suggestion like "Mental process" which is not obviously related.
