Try using plughw:0,0 instead of hw:0,0 as the pcm device (second arg to audio.source and audio.sink. plughw:0,0 should send something (not sure what) to all i/os. Not sure of the performance impact. A bit of measuring with oprofile will reveal all. It sounds like a fix for the Delta-44 ALSA driver is in order too. This assumes that the driver can tell the difference between a Delta-44 and other boards with the same chip set. You might want to post this question to the JACK or ALSA mailing lists.
