Another question ... It sounds like my USRP power supply is emitting a
high pitched whine. Is this normal? Unloaded I looked on a scope and see
6 volts plus spikes above that about a couple of volts in magnitude.
Disregard my chatter, replacing the power supply has resolved the problem.

The kernel is throwing -EPROTO, which, generally, is indicative of a
low-level error with the HCI code. Can you try a different cable /
usrp combination? I can't reproduce this error on any of my machines.
I tried a different cable and from my beagle board (running libusb1). I
am beginning to worry about my USRP. Time to borrow one and see if my
USRP has gone flaky.
