Dear SDR hackers, I'm happy to announce a release of our embedded UmTRX 2.3.1 SDR for public use. There are a lot of SDR boards out there to cater for all tastes, but so far there were no low-cost SDRs for embedded/industrial/telecom use available for generic public and that's what we're changing today.
We've been using it in our UmSITE outdoor base stations since 2014 and now we're making it available for everyone. UmTRX 2.3.1 based equipment has been deployed on all continents (except Antarctica so far) and has been tested in both both Siberia-cold and Sahara-hot environments. After all these rigorous testing we know for a fact that UmTRX v2.3.1 can withstand the most rigorous requirements. At the same time, UmTRX v2.3.1 is the most cost efficient SDR for a carrier grade base station - if you take into account number of channels, onboard GPS, industrial grade components, power amplifier control and other peripherals we packed into this small board. UmTRX was originally designed to work with OpenBTS, OpenBTS-UMTS and Osmocom, but thanks to UHD driver it's works seamlessly with GNURadio and can be used for anything a solid SDR can do, like drone hacking <http://blog.ptsecurity.com/2016/06/phd-vi-how-they-stole-our-drone.html> or LTE or [insert your own].
