It "just" lacks the UMTS module, otherwise its perfectly suitable as a phone (the N800 even more) which can be used in WIFI networks. Well, even for video chats I suppose.
I have the N770 and did some experiments with mySTEP but found that it is not the optimal solution. IMHO much better will be the OpenMoko and/or an HTC Universal with Xanadux.
Maybe its just me, but I like the iPhone as an internet aware "PDA", not as a phone. I consider the UMTS-phone + N800 combo almost perfect. The big issue is that the software of the iPhone seems to be much more pleasant to use / flashy. Well and possibly the speed, but the N800 already got better.
The nice thing about the N800 is the form factor (touch display) for internet browsing. OpenMoko seems to lack that, its really just a phone.
Anyways, just my personal impression w/o having touched the iPhone ;-) Discussion should wait until Steve's RDF collapses ;-)
