I am running OpenGEU on another partition with no problem. My question
is how does the XORG get set with gnustep to reflect the monitor?

please try ctrl-alt-f1, then X -configure then cp the new xorg.conf into
/etc/X11
then ctrl-alt-f2, then ctrl-alt-backspace.
