Hi,

Hello GNUsteppers!

Just if you haven’t seen it yet, the next GNU Hackers Meeting (GHM) will
take place in Paris, France, August 22–25:
this is both good news.. but also sad news, I almost certainly won't be able to make it. I'm tight on schedule with "real" work which sadly doesn't involve much open source. I'll check the ticket prices and availabilities though.

I would find it nice to hear about GNUstep news, perhaps including a
user viewpoint (for instance, I’ve been amazed by the progress reports
on various applications by Riccardo on planet.gnu.org.)
I'm amazed and happy that somebody follows that and that you like what you see :) I can, in case somebody goes there, provide him with slides of the current status, latest progres, short and longer term goals.

Would you be willing to give a talk on GNUstep, or to otherwise have a
good time with friendly GNU folks? :-) Please let Luca or
[email protected] know.
I'd lave to meed the GNU Hurd guys too :) Since I can't promise even to get there, I can't promise a talk either. Sorry.

Note that, unsurprisingly, GHMs are built around the value of software
freedom, with a focus on building a consistent GNU system. Talks in
that spirit are most welcome!
We share that spirit. Both the GNUstep project (it is GNU!) and the GAP project (even if it is hosted on non-gnu, because some applications are not FSF assigned).

After all, who chould be so crazy to regularly test GNUstep on GNU/Hurd?

Riccardo
