My crystal ball is broken, but I don’t expect Apple to phase out Cocoa. I’m not sure I even expect them to phase out Objective C. There is just too much legacy code out there. That said, I think the latter is more likely than the former. I think we should do what makes the most sense regardless of what Apple does. And there, I think Swift and UIKit support would be beneficial regardless. I’m not sure anybody would use GNUStep on macOS unless Apple pulls the plug on Cocoa or ObjC. And if Apple ever did do that, you’d get a lengthy depreciation period which we could use for development time.
