Hi,

"iMessage/FaceTime"

I mention a generic app I miss on GNUstep and Mac: a messaging app, something which is not browser-based and not proprietary (e.g. Discord).

In our archive we mention Empathy, Ekiga... they are almost all Archived.

Of course we cannot port iMessage nor FaceTime. I admit I used skype until it lasted - proprietary, but working on Linux, Mac (even relatively old versions!) and phone it was very convenient as a touchpoint with developers (the only use I had left for it).

I guess most people use WhatsApp or things like Slack or Discord, Zulip, but they don't feel the same for me.

Is there anything "open" left working? XMPP? More than security and features, i seek openness and independence.

Signal is OpenSource but it is aslo secure and adding extra "devices" is not as convenient.

I used Skype
