This has been discussed many times on the list. .edu is not open to other
Registrars - you can only get it from VeriSign, and you must be a 4 year
accredited institution to qualify (apparently the process isn't THAT hard,
but does not lend itself to realtime registrations).
Search for .edu and you'll find tonnes of stuff :)
