Hi All, Thanks again for the insights! We were all correct. Registrars ARE billed at expiration as I understood. Yet, the 45 day refund policy allows them to reverse the billing. There's no justification for having a sudden death policy as Bulk "currently" does. I think the Tucows policy is the most sensible, giving clients sufficent time to cure the default. Good job! The way it works is VRSN auto-renews at expiry, and the registrar has 45 days to get a refund (i.e. delete the domain, and not get charged). How each registrar deals with that 45 day window is up to them. Our policy *currently* is to place the domain on hold, and give the registrant 40 days, at which point we issue the delete command. 5 days later the domain is no more.
