Ho-ho:
You caught us.
We are working fast and furious to get the info for .info premium pre-reg
ready.
We are doing this on the quick so development and code promotion got out
ahead of our marketing efforts. It's all coming together now though.
We noticed that individuals who really wanted their .info domain name were
spreading their registrations across many Registrars. Rather than us and our
resellers risk losing business to these other registrars (this risk extends
beyond just domain names), we decided to provide an option. We have leased
queues from other Registrars that would otherwise not be using their queues
for the .info landrush period and will be submitting the 'premium' names
across the other queues in a way that optimizes the possibility of
registration (stay tuned on the list for a fascinating probability problem).
The premium pre-reg will be a much smaller queue that gives multiple chances
at registration.
The 'Premium' Pre-Reg will cost $60 for three-years of registration (you can
register for longer but it will cost $20 a year and our renewal will be the
regular price of $10/year-- so that would just be silly).
All other rules are the same -- no charge for domains that don't get
registered, renewal rates are as normal.
The full information will shortly be available on the web-site. Stay tuned.
