With all the hoopla over VeriSign and "premium" domain names, why is there no complaint about "Premium Registrations" of .tv names?
The fact that the .tv Registry set up a premium domain system from the start, and did not wait until later? China.tv just sold through the registry, for the first time, for $100,000. Not after-market, but at market. Don't you think that VeriSign noticed this? They see huge $$$ on the table, but if you believe that all the hot domains are gone in the .com space, then how would you capitalize on this bonanza? With some form of premium domain service. Since the "premium domains" in the .com space are simply those domains that people are trying to pick up at dropped-domain-hour, this seems to fit the business model fairly well. I'm not saying I agree with this, but why isn't anyone making a stink about the Premium Domain process at .tv as well? -t
