This was brought up on the DNSO GA mailing list numerous times, e.g. http://www.dnso.org/clubpublic/ga/Arc10/msg00174.html but Verisign has yet to fix things. The Expiry Date is one of the required elements that a registrar's WHOIS must provide, but it seems ICANN has no interest in enforcing their contracts with Verisign...
