Register.Com was doing that some time ago as well, and had been for
quite a while. Not sure if they still do that. Knowing them, they
probably are.
How low can you get, huh? I guess everybody just figures they can make
up whatever rules they like, as they go along. So, do we know if they're
selling them at over inflated prices like RCOM used to? It must suck
being that hard up for a couple of bucks!

Subject: Another reason to stick with Tucows

Hello
We had a customer not renew their domain at Godaddy.
It was the usual problem of an out of date billing address.
Look at this whois entry:

Domain Name: XXXXXXXX.COM

Created On:16-Aug-2002 02:13:20 UTC

Last Updated On:01-Oct-2003 00:00:39 UTC

Expiration Date:16-Aug-2004 02:13:20 UTC

Sponsoring Registrar:R91-LROR

Status:OK

Registrant ID:GODA-01394574

Registrant Name:Godaddy Software domains for sale

Registrant Organization:Godaddy Software

Registrant Street1:14455 N Hayden Rd

Registrant Street2:Suite 219

Registrant City:Scottsdale

Registrant State/Province:AZ

Registrant Country:US

Registrant Phone:+1.4805058800

It appears they are trying to resell the domain name rather than
dropping it
into the redemption period.
