That's exactly what's being said.

Many companies use HTTP monitoring tools to make sure their website is
accessible. If the HTTP monitoring tool is just setup to make sure it gets
an HTTP response on port 80 for "/", then SiteFinder will make such a 
tool provide a false positive.

Secondly, given this was simply a "redirect" alias, it is unlikely that MP3.com
themselves would necessarily notice the problem until a user notifed them of
the fact.
