Since Verisign controls everything, as in the 6$ charge on the domain,
this may not be costing Netsol very much money or any money to do.

It's not really free, it's a "gift-with-purchase".


They offer you a free year if you buy 1, 2, 4 or 8 years.  And their
1-year price is almost double the OpenSRS price.  So ... the best you
could do would be to transfer to NetSol for two years and save yourself
a dollar per domain.  If your time is worth that little to you, then
you're probably just the kind of customer Verisign wants.

It's an offer made to consumers who don't know any better.  Does Network
Solutions know their market, or what?
